Paul Hodgetts

//

Paul has participated in  competitive sport his whole life playing rugby, football and basketball. He has experienced a range of training techniques and practices along the way and enjoys adapting and developing within different disciplines.

His mantra: ‘What doesn’t challenge you, won’t change you!’

Following a major leg break in 2012 Paul had to hang up his rugby boots and in doing so had to adapt his training. Fitness, sport and activity is essential for physical and mental health and he wasn’t about to stop.

Running and functional body building became his passion, influenced and inspired by elite training methods within CrossFit (athletes such as Marcus Filly and Matt Fraser) whilst always maintaining 200+ kilometres a month of running including weekly Sunday muddy half marathon trails with his best friend Ziggy (pet dog).

More recently Paul discovered HYROX, a discipline involving strong man strength and muscular endurance. We is participating in the Pro event in Birmingham October 2024 where he is hoping to qualify for the world championships within his age category. Hybrid training is his speciality now, high intensity workouts combining hypertrophic functional bodybuilding to support mobility, self confidence and positive mental health.

“I want to out run the lifters and out lift the runners!” If you do aswell, come and check out one of his classes and prepare for the ‘burn’.
